Indonesian Minister Arifin Invites Dutch Companies To Invest In Clean Energy And Inter-Island Electricity Infrastructure
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, during his visit to the Netherlands, engaged in bilateral discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Dutch Minister for Climate and Energy Policy Rob Jetten. In these discussions, Minister Arifin extended invitations to Dutch companies to invest in clean energy and inter-island electricity infrastructure projects in Indonesia.
“Indonesia invites Dutch companies to participate in investments related to clean energy and inter-island electricity infrastructure. Indonesia also possesses mineral resources that can facilitate the transition to clean energy and foster collaboration in developing downstream industries,” stated Minister Arifin.
Alongside these areas, opportunities for collaboration in biofuels were also explored during the bilateral meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Rob Jetten expressed enthusiasm for potential cooperation with Indonesia, affirming his intention to engage Dutch businesses, as well as those within the European Union, and mobilize financial and investment support for advancing electricity infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives.
This call for collaboration echoes a previous agreement signed on September 1, 2022, in Bali, where Minister Arifin and Minister Rob Jetten inked an MOU on Cooperation in Energy Transition to Address Climate Change during the ETMM (Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting G20). During this event, they also witnessed the signing of a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) between PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (Pertamina NRE) and Pondera Development BV.
