After Graham Potter rejects Ajax, club turns attention to Nice head coach
Voetbal International are reporting that Ajax have moved on from Graham Potter and are looking to Ligue 1 instead. The Amsterdam clubs have now decided that Francesco Farioli of Nice is their main candidate to lead the side during the 2024/2025 campaign. Former Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea head coach Potter rejected the side as he believed the project was not right for him at this time.
Farioli currently has Nice in fifth place in Ligue 1 and can secure a top six finish with a win over Le Havre on Friday evening. The Italian certainly fits what Ajax want in their new head coach, which is a young and up and coming leader. The Italian is just 35-years-old and joined Nice in the summer. In 35 matches he is averaging 1.71 points per game with the French side. Prior to his current role, Farioli spent time in Türkiye as head coach of Alanyaspor and Fatih Karagümrük. His contract with Nice is expected to run until 2025.
