Arsenal defender Jurriën Timber marks return to action with an incredible goal

Arsenal’s Dutch defender Jurriën Timber has finally made his return to football following the ACL injury he sustained during the opening game of the season. The former Ajax fan favourite scored with a sensational strike for Arsenal’s U21’s during their game against Blackburn Rovers U21’s on Monday. Timber’s moment of magic came in the eighth minute of the match, which ended 2-2.

Jurriën Timber received the ball inside Blackburn’s penalty area before curling a stunning strike into the top right corner. A truly incredible way to mark your return to football after being absent for so long due to injury. Now, the 22-year-old can make his full return to the first-team to the delight of manager Mikel Arteta and Netherlands national team boss Ronald Koeman.

Timber suffered his ACL injury over eight months ago, during Arsenal’s opening day league clash with Nottingham Forest. The £38m man will soon be back on the pitch at the Emirates showing Arsenal fans what he’s capable of.
