Blow for Eupen in relegation battle as former West Brom and Huddersfield Town defender out for the season
Eupen’s relegation survival bid has been dealt a blow as the club revealed that experienced defender Jason Davidson is set to be out for the rest of the season. The Australian defender has made 30 appearances for the Pandas this season, scoring one goal. Eupen now lose one of their more experienced defenders for the run in.
Davidson has been with Eupen since 2022, having joined from Melbourne Victory. Overall he has played 63 games for the club and has been a regular under a number of coaches in that time. The former Australian international has had a varied career in Europe, playing for the likes of Heracles, West Brom, Huddersfield Town, Rijeka and Olimpija Ljubljana. He returned to Australia in 2018 to join Perth Glory, but soon moved abroad again a period with Ulsan HD.
With his contract up in the summer, relegation for the side may well have seen the 32-year-old Davidson play his last game for the side.
