Club Brugge are coming into the first leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final in fine form. Under caretaker head coach Nicky Hayen the side are on a run of eight games without defeat, drawing just once in that time. They are hoping to make their first ever European final and travel to Florence for the first leg against Serie A side Fiorentina.

In the previous round, Club dispatched PAOK 2-0 away from home, although their performance could easily have led to a score line of 3-0 or even 4-0. Fiorentina are expected to be a more tricky opponent on the pitch, but they have shown they are able to deal well with a hostile atmosphere and get the job done. The side are full of confidence at the moment and look strong at both ends of the pitch, with players such as Hugo Vetlesen and Raphael Onyedika stepping up in recent weeks. At the weekend they overcame Genk 3-0 to remain in the hunt of a 19th domestic title.

Fiorentina overcame Viktoria Plzen in their previous round, needing extra time to grab a 2-0 aggregate victory at home in the return leg. The side are currently eight in Serie A, nine points behind Roma in fifth place. They come in off the back of a convincing 5-1 win over struggling Sassuolo at the weekend, which was a nice bounce back after being hammered 4-1 in their Coppa Italia semi-final second leg by Atalanta.
