Newcastle United send scouts to watch PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman
According to reports in England, Newcastle United scouts have been watching PSV Eindhoven star Joey Veerman, as the Premier League side prepare to bolster their midfield this summer. Veerman has played a pivotal part in Peter Bosz’s side this season, featuring 24 times for the Eredivisie leaders. The 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided 14 assists so far this season across all competitions.
Joey Veerman has spent the majority of this season in the centre of midfield, but he can also play in a more attacking role or as a defensive midfielder. According to Inews, Newcastle scouts have watched the Netherlands international in action and he could be seen as a replacement to Bruno Guimarães, who may be on the move this summer.
Veerman’s current contract in Eindhoven is valid until 2026. The eight-time Dutch international joined PSV from Heerenveen in 2022 for just €6m. Now, Transfermarkt values the midfielder at more than €30m. Having spent five seasons impressing in the Eredivisie, Veerman seems ready for a move to the Premier League.
