Irons chase hottest property in Dutch football
According to a report from Sky Sports, West Ham are eyeing a move for AZ Alkmaar’s in-form striker Vangelis Pavlidis ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sky Germany have indicated that the Greek forward may be on the move this summer, with several Bundesliga clubs and Premier League side Brighton also interested in his services.
It is estimated that it would require around €18 million to lure the 25-year-old away from AZ Alkmaar. However, Pavlidis’s impressive goal-scoring record in the Eredivisie makes him a valuable asset at a relatively low price.
West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steideten, reportedly holds a high regard for the player. Additionally, Hammers defender Konstantinos Mavropanos shares a close friendship with Pavlidis, which could potentially sway the deal in West Ham’s favour.
The player is also well known to The hammers having faced us during last seasons European campaign.
Pavlidis currently leads the scoring charts in the Dutch top flight. He has netted 24 goals in 22 games, making him a highly sought-after talent across Europe.
