WHSmith and Holland & Barrett urge Body Shop employees to apply for jobs
WHSmith and Holland & Barrett took to LinkedIn to reach out to The Body Shop staff who may be impacted as the ethical beauty chain carries out a restructuring of its UK business.
The Body Shop announced this week that it would be shutting nearly half of its 198 stores in the country and cutting 40% of head office jobs to “support a simplified business” as it looks to focus on other distribution channels including online and wholesale.
The ethical beauty chain closed seven stores with immediate effect following the announcement with more closures to follow in the coming weeks.
In a LinkedIn post, WHSmith said: “We are sad to hear that The Body Shop will be closing some of its UK stores and we’re keen to do what we can to support our fellow retail colleagues who are now facing an uncertain future.
“We have a range of roles available across our business in both travel and high street stores as well as our support centres and we want to hear from you.”
Holland & Barrett said: “We understand that the recent news regarding store closures may feel concerning. We deeply appreciate your dedication and commitment to The Body Shop over the years and we want to do everything we can to support you during this challenging time.
“We are inviting all colleagues who are at risk of redundancy to apply for our vacancies at Holland & Barrett across all business areas, including but not limited to retail, commerce functions, product and tech, and finance.”
